Fallout New Vegas Black Textures Fix

Posted on -

Per request, these are the mods I use in Fallout New Vegas. It is an incredibly unstable game on Windows 10. It has taken much work to fiddle with load order and compatible mods to make my installation of NV stable. I will change my mods over time and update this document when I make changes to my game. Fix 4: Install the anti-crash or enhancing mod for your game. Some Fallout: New Vegas mods can help you fix your crashing issues and enhance your game performance. You should do some research on the Internet, and find the right mods from a reliable source, such as Nexus Mods, for you.

For many months now, I have constantly tried to install an enb onto New Vegas, only to succumb to the failure. Today was such a day. I have looked for an answer but have come up with nothing. I hope one of you will be able to help me find a solution. Here goes:

I have a GTX 1070 and the Windows 10 Anniversary update. Also I'm running the 4GB Enabler. Since I have an GTX 1070, it made me resort to downloading the Nvidia .dll file off of the Nexus in order to even play NV. I also have NVSE and 4GB Enabler installed, which is well and all, except that I had to also look into why 4GB Enabler wasn't working properly. I finally found the solution, which was to also put the .dll file I got off of the Nexus and put it into the 'exes' folder, where I also put the 'FalloutNV.exe'. That solved my modding problems, and now I don't have to worry about the constant crash due to 'Out of memory' popping up in the middle of game play. Here's the problem: An enb needs the 'EnbSeries' .dll file to be placed into the NV directory. However, every time I place the .dll file in the NV folder (also tried putting it in the 'exes' folder), and I start up the game, it black screens immediately on start up. The title music can still be heard, but the screen is dark. I saw another post saying that turning the DVR on the crappy Xbox app off would work. I tried it and it still black screened. I think it has to be the EnbSeries .dll file, since I tried running the Enb without it, and instead with the Nvidia .dll file. The Enb didn't work of course, but the game didn't black screen at startup. My mods work fine. It's just the enbs I have a problem with. I wish to run Dynamo Enb, but the .dll files have been a pain in my side. Does anyone have a solution? I just want my game to feel good and look great.
