When i start up my game it crashes and said The Evolution Engine has stoped working Plz help. If its under steam go to local disk c/ program files x86/ steam/ steam apps/ common/ warframe.

  • If your computer doesn't have enough space for update then that might be your problem. Also DE is trying really hard to update servers.

  • Try loading it without DirectX11 under the settings at the initial launcher box...it helped for me and it started up fine. Good luck.

  • Verify cache on game launcher options button then run Optimize. Also if you overclocked CPU, check for stability issue.

    Even Im getting random crashes, namely a rare one when I look up and jump to perform an aerial attack. No idea why it crashes, but thats what bugfixes are for.

    Dude this is exactly my problem.

    When i use the Aerial Attack the game freezes sometimes.

    Something really got fucked up in U15 and they cant get it fixed so far.

  • Aerial attacks are a new thing, there will be bugs. Take it from me, when you start adding things to a video game, completely insane things happen to cause crashes in the most unexpected places.

    Of cause, but it keeps getting me frustrated and I lost so much loot and XP.

  • Eh, I only get that about once every 10 missions, maybe every 15. Its still fully possible to play.

  • Support told me to scan for malware,

    though its obvious that this bug has to do with U15 and the Aerial Attack.

    Optimizing and verifying didnt help.

    When they ship a hotfix/patch I log in and 1-3 games later it crashes while an Aerial Attack, so i get frustrated again and dont log in for 2 days.

    In addition I had bugs not giving me loot or XP even if I complete the mission withot a freeze. Thats how it looks since U15, not playable to me.

  • It crashes here also... If I go and disable everything... to use only directx9 and window mode in the launcher it works. As soon i go full screen it crashes... .. But if you change the resolution and fullscreen mode in the game it keeps on working until new start of the game. Wtf is up with that... at least its a workaround... but c'mon fix this already... This happens on my new PC with GTX 970 4 GB.

    right click warframe go to properties then compatibility and under compatibility mode check run this program in compatibility mode then in the tab select what windows you have and click apply and ok

    It depends how long ago you had updated your game or how many files the launcher decided to update in case it found a disrepancy with them. Do you use steam to run Warframe normally? And by your comment you went into the files and launched the launcher there, was the update triggered by opening the launcher or did you use any of the options in the launcher to trigger the update?

  • I have so many games and Warframe seems to be the only one where it's constantly a battle to keep playing. Whether it be a crash for no reason, black screen or random glitch moments, Warframe has it all. Seriously, this is a massive pain in the ass.

    No matter how strong your PC is bugs will crash it. There is no such thing as a ANTI CRASH PC.

  • mine did that too untill i went to the help screen and after a little while returned to the game. it started agian. but this is not a sulution i think i just got lucky. any ways it was out for about a week

  • Hi. So, when people have the launcher crash when trying to install, I ran into this problem, and think I can help.

    Due to some functions being depriciated on later versions of Windows, anytime the game tries to call those functions, a crash happens. Don't worry, there is a work-around. It isn't the actual game that is having the problem, it's the installer. Navigate to your steamlibrary>Common>Warframe>Tools. Go into properties of Launcher.exe, and put compatibility mode to Windows 7.

    DO NOT run the launcher from steam! Just open it from there. It will ask you to locate the instillation folder, aka steamlibrary>common>warframe, and then it will ask you to agree to EULA and TOS. At this point, the game will start to install, all the while saying 'checking for new content'.

    This fixed the entire 'Launcher Crashing' bug for me, I hope it helps you as well!

  • Will my progress be saved if i download the game again from the actual site?...like i had downloaded it before from steam...i was just opening the game as usual ..but then all of sudden it took me to the download page of steam and is saying that i should redownload:(....pls help

    probably ur progress will be saved bcause accounts and stuff are stored server sided

  • If you start the download on steam, you can copy the files from the website download into the steam folder (just make sure the folder names are correct when you move so you know you put it in the right spot). then just verify cache and it should be faster than redownloading the game through steam. Yes your account is saved, things like options you have changed, favorited colors, those will be gone, but they are easily re-set.

    Probably because the crash has absolutely nothing at all to do with how much harddrive space you have. You could somehow have several billion terabytes and a crash can still happen. Do some problem solving.

    This is the same problem for me! Just after the plains of thingy updtae, I press play and the game starts to load-up but then when it gets to about 5% of the way across the loading bar, it just stops and says; 'Not responding plz do something lol' (not the exact quote btw)

    Well there are over 70,000 players trying to play the game right now so downloads and connections can be tempermental for those with poorer connection to the servers. Ensure your file integrity is right in the launcher in case the download failed for you and try again.
